Major Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased strikes in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to water supplies, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.

Russian forces has increased attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and implementing penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from city authorities.

Regional authorities said the urban area experienced heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were hurt.

The assaults follow nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, sections of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
